I-84 Weekend Lane Closures

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that, to facilitate construction work associated with the Route 8/I-84 Interchange (Mixmaster) rehabilitation project in Waterbury, multiple lanes on I-84 Eastbound and Westbound will need to be closed during daytime hours. Motorists are advised that multiple lanes on I-84 Eastbound and Westbound will need to be closed during daytime hours on two upcoming weekends beginning Friday, October 27, 2023. 

Multiple lanes on I-84 Eastbound and Westbound will need to be closed on Friday, October 27, Saturday, October 28 and Sunday, October 29, 2023, and again on Friday, November 10, Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12, 2023. The project team will be placing waterproofing membrane on the rehabilitated bridge decks in preparation for paving. This needs to be completed during the daytime hours due to temperature and dew point restrictions needed for the membrane to adhere correctly.  Lane closures will start at 10:00PM on Friday and continue throughout the weekend until 6:00AM Monday.  Motorists are advised that these lane closures may cause significant traffic delays.
